Tyler Beard pitched his second complete game victory of
the season to win, 4-3, as Catonsville also won for the second time, dropping Baltimore County League rival Dulaney to 4-2 on Tuesday.
Kevin Bradshaw led off the bottom of the seventh with a
single, after which the next batter struck
out.
Scott Donovan then walked, bringing Justin Whittington to the plate.
Whittington hit a line drive to shortstop Alex
Frederick, who narrowly missed doubling Bradshaw off second base
with what would have been a game-ending double-play.
With new life, however, the Comets’ Geoff Hendrix
lined a single to right, scoring Bradshaw with the tying run.
Jeremy Mannone then picked up his third RBI
of the game with a hit to right field, scoring Donovan and giving the Comets
the victory.
